Perfectly Imperfect

I'm a title and over 2000 words into my Spencer/Ethan-preseries-sorta AU Criminal Minds big bang fic and the plot is still nowhere in sight. I'm definitely not going to have a problem hitting the 15k word requirement at this rate, though I'm a little worried about finishing in time since this definitely has potential to be a monster. I really need to cement a beta for this fic soon too, because if I'm given free range I'm afraid that Amelia's going to take over the entire thing. She's definitely a main character and driving force in the plot, but I'm wary enough of original characters to begin with and I'm afraid that the personal affection I have for her is going to turn this into something not good.

Oh well.  =/

On the plus side, I've totally managed to work in references to Britney Spears and 10 Things I Hate About You.

My Sanctuary fic, on the other hand, is the one I'm the most worried about. I've done the least work on it out of any of my big bangs, although I have Ideas, and it's the one with the longest word count and the one I have the flimsiest plot idea for. Everything's kind of gone into stasis on it until I have a chance to sit down and rewatch some episodes this week.

Question for any of the Sanctuary fans on my list. How much is said about werewolves on the show? I know they can change at will and all that, but do they change from the time they're born? Is there a certain age when it starts? Or can I pretty much make up whatever the hell I want? Henry's werewolfness is morphing into a pretty decent Thing in the fic, but I can't remember them ever really saying that much about it. Again, I need to rewatch some episodes, especially the ones that deal with Henry being a werewolf and pretty much anything involving Tesla.

Okay, so I've already mentioned that Amelia Doyle, my OC from Hardly Ever, is going to be playing a major part in my Criminal Minds big bang fic, since at this point she's a permanent fixture in my head canon for Spencer's childhood and the fic's set before he joins the FBI. Last night I was bored and having trouble concentrating and I ended up messing around on google where I stumbled across this picture. Okay, so the hair is a little lighter than I imagined and her eyes are blue instead of brown, but every time I look at this, all I can think is 'Hello, teenage Amelia.'

I'm going to try and do a weekly check in just to keep myself on track for my big bangs. Feel free to ignore it, yell at me to keep working, or dangle pretty things in front of me as an incentive to not stop.

Hawaii 5-0: ~1360/10,000 minimum
Criminal Minds: ~250/15,000 minimum
Castle: ~780/15,000 minimum
Sanctuary: ~160/25,000 minimum

Okay, that's not too bad, especially if you take into account that I've only really started doing any work on these the last day or so. Right? Right?

Also, I think I'm going to try and do an open comment fic post like I did last week every week, just to keep myself sane. Because apparently I like to take  breaks from my writing to do other writing. Idek, anymore guys. I'm going to go find a practice room and sing for a while now.

1. Okay, so I'm super behind on replying to people because sometimes I turn into a complete antisocial hermit and the very idea of interacting with other people-excluding a handful of exceptions because I do play favorites-makes me want to curl up under my covers and never come out again. I'm working on it. Anyway, I'm going to be playing catchup tomorrow. Because I'm an antisocial bitch, but I'm an antisocial bitch with a mountain of guilt the size of Everest.

2. Does anyone remember Amelia, my tiny redheaded lesbian OC from Hardly Ever? If you've been wanting more of her-and I have it on very good authority that at least one person does-she's going to be making a pretty major reappearance in my Criminal Minds big bang fic. You're welcome.

3. I think the worst part of doing four big bangs is the fact that I kind of have no idea where to start. Each time I start working on one of them, I get amazing ideas for another one. It's driving me a little batty. Must power through it. Heed the icon, everyone. I will thank you for it if you do.

5. Someone wrote an opera about Klingons. In Klingon. There aren't enough words in the world to express how much I want to play a Klingon in an opera. Guys. Guys. That combines so many of my favorite things. The same week I found out about this glorious tribute to nerdom, my new voice teacher told me I have a perfect voice for opera and started trying to convince me to switch to a performance major. Can I go ahead and take this as a sign that the universe wants me to be a happy singing Klingon? Because that's how I want to interpret this.

That's right, it's me. Because I have officially lost my goddamn mind. So...who's up for a Ryan/Esposito high school AU?

Apparently I'm a masochist. In the last 24 hours I've signed up for three big bangs. I don't know why I thought that was a good idea, but...yeah. Sign ups are still open for all of them. Artists are especially needed across the board, so don't be deterred if you don't want to tackle the writing side for whatever reason. The Hawaii Five-O big bang is a minimum of 10k words, Criminal Minds is 15k, and the Sci-fi and Fantasy one is 25k.


Because there isn't any Tesla/Henry fic around.
