Dear daddy,

I appreciate you letting me live at home rent free while I go to college. That's super cool of you, especially since you don't have to. Still. I'm in my twenties. It's time to either stop yelling at me when I lock my bedroom door or stop barging in on me. And no, knocking is not effective when you open the door immediately after you knock. If you don't even give me enough time to say 'come in' or 'wait a minute', then why even bother? For the love of God, give me a chance to tell you to stay out or eventually we're going to be dealing with a very embarrassing situation that will be 100% your fault.

Love,

Your little girl

*chuckles helplessly*

Oh, isn't that just the godawful truth. I hope he learns before it gets to that!

Me too. Right now it's just really annoying, especially since there have been a few close calls. >.

Oh dear, I unfortunately know exactly how that embarrassing moment will feel. Members of my family have this weird inability to knock before entering a room...

*headdesk* Why do people have such a hard time with it? It's really not that difficult! My mom's pretty much figured out to wait until I call or personally answer the door, but my older sister-who lives out of state now, but is visiting for the week-has adopted my dad's habit of knocking and then immediately entering the room. What's worse, she gets almost ridiculously angry if someone knocks more than once on her door. I guess she just expects them to barge in like she does, but I refuse to go into someone's room unless they give the okay, so that's caused a few blow ups between us. /rant

and that is why i have piles of crap in front of my door so they can't swing it open :B

*pets* you should make a sign that says "IM NAKED" and put it on your door./..and not take it off lol.

Can't do the piles of crap or I'd start getting the 'you take advantage of us' lectures again because my room isn't to my borderline OCD mother's satisfaction. I think I told you about her crying because my leaving my sneakers in the living room meant that I didn't respect her.

If I thought it would work...lol

Eeeesh. Been there...and had the walk in. But in retrospect, it totally changed the way Daddy woke me up in the mornings after that.

His idea of a wake up call was to open the door without an announcement of any kind, flip on the lights, and rip the covers off the bed. I asked him many times not to do that. Still, he kept on. So one night I slept completely naked on purpose.

He never did it again.

True, but at least it had the desired effect. I figure that bit of embarrassment was worth it. Especially since Daddy wasn't the type of man to apologize or discus emotions or embarrassing situations unless it were a matter of life or death.

We just went on and pretended it never happened. And I'm completely okay with that! LOL!!
