It would! They would flounder without Stiles and the demon would have access to all of Stiles' secrets, which would TEAR THEM APART, and omg I need this now!

And he'd be all pretending it never happened afterward, and for the sake of things Derek lets him pretend. But they both know it's a lie and occasionally there are stares. Things to be expanded upon in later seasons, slowly, as Stiles gets older and their relationship shifts.

Of course their relationship would shift. Stiles would get older and he'd maybe date some, make a show of his first girlfriend (or boyfriend) and Derek would just watch and wait. Because Derek doesn't like to be patient, but he can be, and he's not going to make a move until Stiles gives the sign that he's ready.
