The smell of melted butter and baking batter slowly coaxes Kevin out of a deep sleep. He rolls over onto his back, groaning lowly at the half pleasant, half sore twinges of his muscles. The light coming in through the window is a dim, weak orange and Kevin stretches again, arms lifted above his head and toes reaching for the end of the bed, and smiles at the sight of the tangle of clothes laying in the middle of a sunbeam.
He should feel guilty about this. He should, because this isn't him; he isn't this guy, has never wanted to be this guy. But then Javier's there by the bed with a towering stack of pancakes and a mark in the shape of Kevin's mouth on his collarbone, and Kevin knows. Knows he can't say no to this man, that he never wants to, and that, even though he'll swear up and down that this is the last time, the next time Jenny's out of town for a conference he'll find himself right back where he is now.
