Damn it, Janet, I love you!
Mar. 22nd, 2010 02:55 pmFirst, can I just express my deep, abiding love for anyone who would name a Weevil Janet?
Now on to business...
I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing, but Torchwood is one of the few shows I've ever watched that makes me constantly reevaluate my opinion of the characters. Actually, I guess it is a good thing, since all the flaws and imperfections that make me sit back and say 'wait...what?' are the things that make them really human. So, it's got that going for it.
I started off on the fence when it came to Gwen. She kind of bugged me, but there was something about her that made me really want to give her the benefit of the doubt. But drugging your boyfriend so you can clear your conscious about having an affair and he won't remember? Not cool, Gwen. On so many different levels. In fact, I'd say as far as bitch moves go, that pretty much flies right off the chart.
And then there's Owen. Something about the shape of his mouth kind of freaks me out, so the shallowest part of me has always been a bit iffy about him. His lips are kinda...reptilian. He was snake lips. Plus, he's one of the characters that I usually want to smack upside the head because of things he says and does. That pretty much all ended after what happened with Diane though. Damn, Owen, way to break my heart.
