1. Got into a knock down, drag out screaming fight with mom first thing this morning. Apparently I'm an unappreciative, flaky child with no say in my own future. Awesome.

2. Spent a good chunk of the day with my friend Whitney, who I've known for over ten years. I love that girl to pieces. We wandered around window shopping and picking up job applications for most of the afternoon and she let me talk her ear off about everything that's been going on. It's good to know that there's at least one person who I know in real life who is supportive about my leaving music for cooking. Also, she gave me a bra she'd bought that didn't fit her right. Hurray for getting brand new bras for free!

3. While mom and I were out this morning, we stopped at one of the local health food stores and I asked the owner if he was interested in selling locally made gluten-free baked goods. He said yes and I'm going to take in some samples of what I can do later this week. If all goes well, I might have my food on his shelves before too long. Cross your fingers and pray, everyone!

4. Hilary Swank's face bugs me. I don't even know why. It just really, really does, y'all.

5. This is a random picture from my Happy folder, because I'm determined to be more positive from here on out.

ETA: SO THIS JUST HAPPENED. The cats are both curled up on the back of the couch with their butts smushed together. I came REALLY close to saying 'Aww, they're butt buddies' out loud to my parents. Potentially awkward, anyone?

1. She has moved from passive-aggressive manipulation to flat out emotional blackmail. You have my sympathies.

2. Funny thing, a few days ago I got a package from a friend mine, containing three almost new, ridiculously expensive bras. (They didn't fit her right.)
FREE BRAS!!!!

3. Crosses fingers.:)

4. The whole of Hilary Swank bothers me. She's not bad but I don't get the hype.

5. ???

1. Yep. And yet she sees no problem with having me make all sorts of gluten-free things for her while she does everything she can to keep me from going into a culinary program. I know because of her background she measures success largely by education and I know that because I had the kind of resume coming out of high school that would have easily gotten me into an ivy league school if that's what I wanted (and god knows my guidance counselor pushed for that, but at the time I wanted to be a teacher and WHO NEEDS THOSE KINDS OF DEBTS GOING INTO TEACHING, am I right?) she always expected me to end up with at least a couple advanced degrees, but the sooner she figures out I'm not backing down on this and gets on board with things, the better. In the meantime, I'm applying everywhere I can for a new job, because if I don't move out of their house soon, I'm going to start screaming and possibly never stop.

2. It's like mammary magic! :D

3. Thanks! Now if I could just get this damn butter to cream...

4. There's just something...off about her. I definitely don't get the hype, but obviously she's someone's type.

5. It's Robert Downey Jr. jumping on...someone. IDEK. I have a bunch of unlabeled gifs in my happy folder and I literally just selected that one at random.

1. Maybe you should remind her that she can't be the only one who likes gluten-free baked goods and it's absolutely a valid business idea?

2. With proper magic, you can lift a bosom to a whole new heights. *nods*

4. I don't get the whole 'American Sweetheart' thing at all.

5. Downey, of course.:)

1. The problem is that she already knows this. But of course when I point out that there's a growing need for good gluten free food as celiac becomes more widely recognized and that the food industry has grown about 30% in the last five years or so, she keeps trying to counter that 90% of restaurants fail within the first year. Which be a lot more relevant if I was planning on sinking a shitload of money into opening a restaurant. Maybe my career won't be as stable as it could be, but I'd rather deal with that than something that's going to make me miserable. She'll come around. Hopefully.

4. It's like when Julia Roberts was America's Sweetheart. I'll never understand that. She looks like she could unhinge her jaw and swallow you whole. Like a SNAKE. She scares me.

And now I'm going to roll out pasta dough. Later!

1. Bah. No matter what her opinion, you gotta do what you gotta do.

2. I don't mind Roberts' looks. The personality, however....
(Not to mention the movies, eww.)

Pastah! I need to eat something.:)
