"I really didn't like that," he says lowly, his forehead pressed against Spencer's. It's close, bordering on invasive, but when Spencer exhales warm and damp against his lips, he inhales, and all he can really think is thank God I didn't lose this. "I think you took at least ten years off my fucking life with your little stunt."
"I'd do it again. If I was put into the same situation, I'd do it again." The words are soft, like Spencer thinks he needs to be handled delicately, but there's a firm undercurrent that makes him shiver, because Spencer isn't lying.
Derek flattens his palm against the wall, then slides it down until it's resting on Spencer's shoulder, his thumb curving under his collar to stroke over warm, living skin. "What if I promised to stop tackling trains?"
He can feel the barest brush of Spencer's smile against his lips, then Spencer loops an arm around his waist and pulls him closer. They kiss, slow and sweet, and every anniversary, lazy morning in bed, stupid fight, passionate night that they haven't gotten to yet flashes through Derek's mind, silent assurances that Spencer makes with the press of his lips and the touch of his fingertips.
"I think," Spencer says slowly when they finally part enough that he can speak, "that we'd both be happier if we only make promises that we'll actually be able to keep."

First commenter gets to pick the next prompt! When requesting, please keep in mind that I try to keep these between 100-500 words. For a list of my fandoms, go here. AUs, crack, genderbending, etc are all welcome in addition to more canon compliant prompts.
IMPORTANT: I'm embarrassingly behind on Criminal Minds and Castle, so please keep the spoilers for the latest seasons of both AWAY from my journal in your prompts and comments. Thanks!

Date: 2011-05-17 04:45 am (UTC)Hmm. Dean/cas (or Cas/Dean either or) -- some nice hurt/comfort with castiel resting up from his ordeal in fronteirland, also: castiel approves of dean's western wear--esp the hat.
Porn optional, always welcome ;) xoxoox

Date: 2011-05-17 04:57 am (UTC)This was awesome..and in random supercool coincidence news- Elephant's Memory is ON right now!!! I love how you brought up that Derek "Jump in the ambulance with the BOMB in it" Morgan doesn't exactly err on the side of caution. I loved every bit of this, the emotions, the banter, the ending. Thank you so much for writing such a wonderful piece from my prompt.

Date: 2011-05-17 05:55 am (UTC)I'm glad Morgan can see that he himself doesn't actually make all that better choices in the line of duty than Reid does :)
Great work, sweetie!
