"I'm dating an asshole," Kevin says, deliberately raising his voice so that there's no way Javier won't hear it. "A sick, twisted asshole."

There's a rustling of sheets on the other side of the bathroom door, and Kevin doesn't know how Javier manages to make that sound pathetic, but he does; he's gifted like that. Javier's voice is all weak, sad innocence when he calls out, "Kevin." A feeble cough. "It hurts."

"You have a cold. It's not even a bad cold," Kevin shoots back as he tugs on his too tight clothes and mentally chants I love my boyfriend, I love my boyfriend, I love my boyfriend, even though he's a manipulative bastard, I love my boyfriend. There's no more putting it off though-when will he learn to stop promising Javier things before finding out what they are?-and he smacks the hat on his head and yanks the bathroom door open.

Javier's propped up on a mountain of pillows looking decidedly perky for someone who's claiming to be on his death bed. His eyes go huge as he stares at Kevin and he slowly licks his lip and lifts a hand, reaching out for him. Kevin rolls his eyes fondly and carefully totters toward him-high heels are a bitch and he doesn't know how Beckett manages to chase suspects in them. He smooths the tiny white miniskirt of his nurse's costume and sits on the edge of the bed, awkwardly crossing stockinged legs. Javier's eyes track the way the skirt rides up, exposing the edge of his garter belt, and hooks a finger under a garter and tugs lightly.

"I love you," he says, sounding a little awestruck as he looks down the front of Kevin's low cut top where it gapes wide because, hey, he doesn't have breasts to fill it out.

"I know," Kevin says with a smirk. Then, because he's a good boyfriend, he leers down at Javier and says, "Now, according to your chart, you're due to have your temperature taken."
