The simplest kindnesses and considerations are like a shock after so many years of neglect followed by mostly inept poking and prodding. But this girl-this sweet, soft girl-speaks to her and soothes all the places where she creaks with age and damage. Late at night when the rest of the crew is asleep, the girl will stay behind in the engine room, tweaking this or fixing that, and her cheerful, chirping voice fills the humming room with music. The girl's hands work miracles, and when those aren't quite enough, she does everything she can to lead her to the problem and show her what needs to be done. And together...together they fly higher and faster than she did when she was new.​
